Philip Conner is the Director and Chaplain of the Diocesan Youth Service.
Looking back through my life, the things that have shaped me most are my
fantastic family and friends. Though I have done many things, the thing
that I have enjoyed most is just getting outside. From my childhood I have
loved playing in the woods, making tree houses and dens. I then graduated
from this to a great love for cycling, cross country, and climbing in the
mountains. This love of the outdoors life has led me to explore all sorts
of places: The Alps, the Himalayas, North Africa, East Turkey, Bangladesh
and Thailand, and most recently Jerusalem. All fascinating places, but none
of them a patch on Preston! But the thing I love most is the gift of life
itself. I love the Church and these past years nothing has given me more
joy than responding to the call to become a priest and to give to others
what has been given to me. And there always seems to be more... |
| Joe
and Ruth have been married for five years and have recently bought a narrowboat
on which they now live. Before moving up to Lancaster they were members
of the Pilgrims Community, whose focus was Evangelisation. Joe’s Background
is in Social Services and Ruth is a qualified Youth Worker. Between them
they have a wide range of interests including walking, climbing (Joe only),
theatre, music, art and netball(Ruth only). |
